SFPC - April Update

Another new video showing progress on events.  Currently events are simple, single commands.  I have a plan to upgrade to complex multi command events, and hope to have that done and a video uploaded soon.

  1. This really looks good! It seems to be a promising engine.

Will it support de Shining Force 1, 2 and CD sprites? It would be nice make a big cross over! It wouldn’t be a big problem having the sprites with the people at the Shining Force Central.

It would be good to see video of the editor’s interface, how the engine user makes the game.

    Best of luck!

  2. If you scroll down and watch the video from the January update, you can see the current version of the in game editor around the 3:30 mark.

As for sprites, it can support whatever I code it to! For now it takes anything you can cram into a 24x24 frame, but that can change if needed. Rips from any or all of those games would all likely fit. And for the near term, rips it will have to be. I don't have spriters beating down my door at this point, unfortunately. Hopefully that will change as things progress!

  3. Thanks for answering!

    It’s getting sweet.

About the sprites issue, I took a look around and found a few battle sprites at http://spriters-resource.com/genesis/sf2 and http://spriters-resource.com/genesis/sf1. That would help you at your tests.

I think that some people would be of more help at http://www.shiningforcecentral.com.
